People of the World;
Welp,
it has snowed finally and now the world is freaking out because, all together
now: the world turns and the weather changes. It is as if the season moved so
fast as to have caught us off-guard. Those pesky seasons!
Isn’t
strange that it feels like “Native American Heritage” Month (November) seems to
end once Thanksgiving Day is done? Yeah, me neither. Here I am, hopefully
posting on time for a change. I will repost all the past months with updated
text. Sorry about that folks, life seems to have gotten in the way…
All right, let’s get going:

I
wish all those white liberal bleeding hearts would support Native American arts
and artists and much at they support Chance the Rapper. But then, supporting
Chance the Rapper now does not really involve any effort – the dude is already
rich.

4:[ Why do some people have to feel like they are
the most special thing, as if their beliefs and opinions and perspectives are
somehow magically unlike any one else’s.

We
act like we are these Caesar’s that must be entertained or are entitled to
leadership or legacy…
5:[ So, I read Harper Lee’s “Go Set a Watchman”
recently…. +(ADD) Many have been upset about this “new” novel and those that
read it are now literary traitors to Lee’s Legacy. (Again, with ‘legacy’.)
There
is simplicity to the writing, a story taken from Jean Louise Finch’s grown
perspective as she returns to Maycomb, Alabama to visit her father. All the
touchstones of the childhood of Scout are gone here: Jem is passed, Dill is
overseas after WWII, Calpernia has aged and moved home. This style is in
contrast to the highly mistaken as ‘complex’ writing of “To Kill a
Mockingbird”.

This
novel was written before Lee’s
“…Mockingbird”. Meaning, this is Harper Lee’s true Atticus Finch, this has always been the true Atticus
Finch, and the version we got in “Mockingbird” is only the child-glorifying
edifice of detached memory. Atticus is America. For we will always present a
glorified version of our own morality, when, in the beginning, we use it to
hide the true figure.
Lee’s
book is a timely reminder that this chasing of nostalgia hides from us the
harsh realities of truth. For the Jean Louise of “Watchman”, it is an evolution
of her morality as she grows beyond her father’s – it is time for Scout to grow
up.
“Go
Set a Watchman” is a searing reminder that the US has always been racist, and
the only way we can get past it is to evolve our own morality above it. In
short, “Go Set a Watchman” reminds us: it is time for us to grow up.

7:[ CREED II

Since
she was on holiday, I decided to take Char to see the latest in the Rocky
Series, “Creed II”. It was very good despite all my criticisms of the series of
late. You can see what I think is missing from the “Creed” series by watching
this video HERE. “Creed” needs to be the story of Adonis Creed, not the continuation
of the story of Rocky Balboa.
The
Balboa Chronicles gets an extension once more as the story thread of “Rocky IV”
is woven into the story of Adonis Creed, in the form of Victor Drago, the son
of Ivan Drago, the boxer who killed Apollo Creed.

apologies for not posting last couple of months. I know you all waited with
baited breath to read my ramblings on the news of the day. Also, worry not, I
will be re-posting for August, September, and October, once I have those
writings completed.
