SEPTEMBER - EPISODE IX: FALL 2020

WISDOM OF THE SAGES
EPISODE IX: FALL 2020

Hello People of the World;

It is starting to cool off now. It’s been raining more frequently of late. Though the temperature goes up now and then, freaking folks out. As I always say this time of year, it’s not as if we don’t have a history of it getting colder in the fall.

As always: Stay safe. Stay home.

 All right, let’s get going:

1:[ Movie theaters are opening now. I don’t get this. We are not even past the first wave of this pandemic and people are acting like everything is normal again. If some smart people I know, who I think would know better, are acting like everything is back to Pre-COVID-19 days. Give me a break….

2:[ Starting a new YouTube series “The Top Shelf – Literary Editions” about books I like. It will keep me shooting video and editing in the meantime as we try to get through the rest of the year. I have been busy with writing, completing a fifth draft on a manuscript and a first draft on a western screenplay. Creatively, I just needed the time and space to write. I hope I can maintain this once we get over the pandemic….

3:[ Bought some new books: “Bury My Heart at Chuck E. Cheese’s” by Tiffany Midge, “When the Light of the World was Subdued, Our Songs Came Through” ed. Joy Harjo, “Unsettlin Truths: The On-going Dehumanizing Legacy of the Docrine of Discovery” by Mark Charles and Soong-Chan Rah, and “A Snake Lies Waiting” by Jin Tong (Louis Cha), Book 3 of the Legend of the Condor Heroes. All books I have a heavy interest in. I will do TOP SHELF reviews of them once they have been read….

4:[ I finished my western film script, now, inspired by a HORRIBLE zombie film, I am going to write a zombie movie with my own spin on it….

5:[ As stated above, I caught a couple of zombie movies. Now, I hate zombies as a horror creature. They are stupid when thought on. Did you know that the government did a zombie attack exercise some years ago during the W Admin? Yeah, many critics felt it was just training the military to fire on unarmed people. Then, you see what’s going on today and yup. Anyways, zombies are stupid.

The better of the two films was 2017’s “Train to Busan”, about a zombie outbreak in Korea and an attack on a train and how the people onboard try to survive. Great tension and emotion. The worse one was “Blood Quantum”, a Native American zombie movie. The Natives are the only people immune when a zombie outbreak happens and this could lead the way for many cool and interesting things to happen. Instead, it is fill with unlikable people that I never cared about and did nothing with the Native aspects of the story. Anyway, I want to write a zombie movie and put my own spin on the genre….

6:[ We cannot go back to “Normal” all after this….

That is it for this month.

As always, I invite you to comment, correct, or contradict anything I write here. I am open to a critical debate. Thanks for taking the time to check out what I write here and I will see you in a month.

Until next time, remember “I try to show the schemers how pathetic their attempts to control everything really are.”
