JULY - EPISODE VII: SUMMER 2021

 WISDOM OF THE SAGES
EPISODE VII: SUMMER 2021

Hello People of the World;

Here we are once again posting late. This time, I kept adding to the items for posting, then I just forgot to post. I wonder if that means Wisdoms of the Sages is becoming less important to me. I mean, I never met anyone that reads it and no one comments or responds. Maybe, the end is near?

It has been pretty warm of late with bouts of cool and rain. The wildfires rage and the icecaps melt. Yet, we keep polluting and drilling like we are somehow going to be saved by some sort of rapture like we are worth saving. Oh well. It’s just weather, right?

As always: Stay safe. Stay home.

 All right, let’s get going:

1:[ This virus really showed how equal we all really are: we are just a bunch of cowards, scared of masks.

2:[ Is it me, or does everyone NOT get "The Godfather"? Seeing how these “reactors” react to the movie. You're not supposed to like what happens to Michael. This is why many Italian-American groups of the time thought it was glorifying the mafia, because audiences thought Michael becoming a criminal murderer was A BAD THING. I mean, you're supposed to hate what Michael becomes, not pump your fist and call him badass...

3:[ I am always reminded of a family joke: my brothers and I would like to talk about the movies I would make when I became a director. (Yes, we did that.) and we would talk about how I would remake classic films like this. (Yes, thinking of "remakes" even back then.)

Instead of doing the Indian adaptation, like most do, we would joke about changing the endings to cheesy 80's machismo with the main character ALWAYS saying the title of the movie. i.e: In my remake of "Psycho", at the end the boyfriend Sam would punch out Norman, and say "You're psycho". Roll credits.

It became a fun game with us, for almost any movie, we would end it with the main character punching someone out and then saying the title somehow. Brings a smile to my face and make me miss my brothers....

4:[ I don't think I have what it takes to be a YouTube movie reactor. Firstly, I would only talk about how it was made, how characters are set up and how situations are paid off, or not. Secondly, I would react to all these weird and foreign movies that I have never seen. Because, all the eYouTube reactors are reacting to the same movies, that are culled from patron polls.

Let's face it, the general public has shit taste in movies. Also, I do not believe everyone who hasn't seen at least one Star War. Movies are the last great export to the world that the US has and that something like the Marvel movie, that have become a worldwide phenomenon, it is unlikely that every single YouTuber has NOT seen it, and have to pretend they never heard of it. Yeah, I don't think I have it to be a YouTube Movie reactor.

5:[ Speaking of movie reactions on YouTube. I am always humored by the comments on films like "The Green Mile" or "The Shawshank Redemption", dudes, like commenting that "This movie is when I first cried", "It's okay to shed a tear at this film" and other such manly-man bullshit. Dude, you came out of the womb crying. You weren't even tough enough to drawer breath, then why are you acting all tough now?

6:[ We cannot go back to “Normal” all after this. We just don’t care for each other. We just don’t. So much for American Exceptionalism…

That is it for this month.

As always, I invite you to comment, correct, or contradict anything I write here. I am open to a critical debate. Thanks for taking the time to check out what I write here and I will see you in a month.

Until next time, remember “I try to show the schemers how pathetic their attempts to control everything really are.”
