Hello People of the World;

 

Welp, it snowed the other day. For the first time this year! Snow stuck on the ground and we were LIVID! LIVED, I SAY! How dare it SNOW, DURING WINTER! Sheesh. I am always surprised at how sneaky winter is.

 

As always: Stay safe. Stay home.

 

 All right, let’s get going:

 

1:[ This virus really showed how equal we all really are: we realize how much any politician will lie to us to get elected, and how much we allow them to lie to us to get elected. Sure, we didn’t kill democracy in this last election, but we sure shot it in the leg….

 

2:[ Remember Napster? That website that stole music from artists and gave it free to people whom felt entitled to it. Hey, I’m for free music. When I logged into my iTunes three months ago, I got a free copy of U2’s “Songs of Innocence”. Man, that was cool and I am sure no one go mad about that. Thinking about that put me in mind of the Reaction videos all over YouTube these days.

 

They watch and react to movie they do not have copyrights to. Then, when they are taken down for copyright claims, they cry FAIR USE and WE’RE PROMOTING your MOVIE/SONG/THING! But essentially, they are doing to the artists, what they think YouTube is doing to them. The artists have the right to their own work….

 

3:[ It’s been tough not to be able to go to the theater and see a movie. But I think theaters will open once again. You’ll see….

 

4:[ I have been doing readings for “A Rez Tale”. It has been tough because since it is an e-book, I have been told it REALLY doesn’t count as a real book. I have has some good sales of it but hardly any one wants to review it. It’s because I think it’s horrible and they don’t want to hurt my feelings. Still, I have to do all of this myself – promoting the book and setting up online readings. I have one more schedule and then, I think I will do a “book discussion” just to get comments and feedback. I contacted a publisher about it, but I will not hear back from them for another few months, June at the latest. But, people seem to think I have not put in the same amount of work a “real” published author has. I don’t know. We’ll see….

 

5:[ I recently watched “Man from the Train” with Donald Sutherland and Larry Mullen Jnr. It was not good at all. As big a fan I am of U2, it was not well acted. Sorry. Maybe in the hands of a better director, Larry Mullen Jnr could have done better. Skip it….

 

6:[ The best thing so far about 2021 is that I found more Setsuko Hara films on the Criterion Channel. I am scripting a video on “Tokyo Story” and some background on Setsuko Hara is always welcomed. I need to watch the Hara films of Mikio Naruse. It is always great to find new films with Hara….

 

7:[ Since we are so concerned about the moralities of eating meat. I hope we share that same concern with the human beings picking our vegetables….

 

8:[ The real problem is that everyone believes they are the hero of their own posts…

 

9:[ We cannot go back to “Normal” all after this. It appears we already are….
